One Sunday our former pastor, Bill Jackson, was the guest speaker at Kikino Bible Church. It was Thanksgiving Sunday and he shared a good message. One thing he said especially caused me to think. It was something that we as Christians know, but I wasn’t aware that I needed to be reminded of it.
God, in His abundant love, sent Pastor Jackson to remind me just when I needed to hear it. It was the idea that God remembers our sin no more. After we confess it and repent of it, it is no longer there. Our sin is not just “covered” like the Old Testament saints; it is removed completely. When the enemy, or people, or even when we ourselves bring it up, we can go straight to Scripture to combat those thoughts.
The enemy likes to remind us of who we were in the past and, even as Christians, the mistakes that we make. In Romans 8:1 (NKJV) it says, “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.” Those condemning thoughts and feelings are simply not true; they no longer have power over us. The Lord desires for us to
walk in freedom and to know that, not only is there no condemnation to us who are in Christ Jesus, but He remembers our sins no more!
Father, thank You that You sent Your Son to pay the price for sin, and that when I confess my sin, You remember it no more.
