We were all there as our youngest sister lay in a coma due to a brain aneurysm, a complication from her open-heart surgery the previous month. She had been in this state for a number of days already.
As in every family, everyone did as much as possible, along with prayers and a hope that she would recover. Earlier in life, I had been
able to share the Gospel with her, and she had accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. Long story short, she did not recover, and she went on ahead to be with the Lord, her Savior … our Savior.
As strange as it may sound, at the time of her passing, there was such a beauty. A stillness and calmness were in the hospital room. It
was divine intervention, I believe. It just seemed as though our Lord Himself was there to come for her and to comfort us.
I still do not fully understand what took place, but it made the temporary separation somewhat easier to bear, knowing that when our
time comes and we are ready, we will see her again and our other saved loved ones that have gone on ahead. It is always best to be ready to meet our Maker.
Dear Lord, thank You for Your love and presence in the midst of our pain, heartaches and storms. We are blessed to have You in our
lives. Amen.
