Previously, I wrote a devotional about an old 1964 Mercury school bus that’s been rusting away in the bush behind my dad’s place since 1976. I looked forward to the hope that someday, someone would take it, work on it, and transform it to the “sweet machine” it had the
potential to be.
I’ve waited since 1976 for that to happen and, finally, I think it’s almost here. You see, this collector from Seattle found out about that old
bus and swung a deal for it. He’s sending a truck to pick it up and take it to Washington to work on it. I asked him to send me pictures when it’s finished, and I’m looking forward to getting them!
Yup, that’s just like the way God wants to take our broken lives and transform us into a thing of beauty. Here it is again. His Word tells us in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (NKJV).
Is that reality? Can that metamorphosis actually take place? Can God change us that way, too? The answer is a resounding “yes!” When we allow God to work in our lives, He will change us!
