“My sheep listen to My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give them eternal life, and they will never perish; and no one
will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the
Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.” John 10:27-30 (NASB)
Growing up, it was just my mom and me. Of course, it takes a village to raise children, but for the most part, it was just us. This is a big
part of my hope story, being raised by a single mom. We have always had a special bond. One of my favorite things is when she would call me, “My Girl.” Hearing those words would always bring me comfort. I loved knowing that I was hers and, in turn, she was mine. But when you are raised with one parent, there is still a sense of something missing.
Since giving my life to the Lord, He has been showing me who I am to Him. I am His child, and I belong to Him. This was something new
and different than anything I had ever experienced. The acceptance and belonging that I get from God, I will never get anywhere else.
Through reading Scripture and having my personal time with Jesus, He has confirmed these things to me — that I, in fact, belong to
Him. Nothing and no one can snatch me away from Him. I am secure in Him alone. I am His, and He is mine.
Thank you, Lord, for the security of knowing You. It doesn’t matter as much what I may think or feel — I am secure in You. Thank you that I am Yours and that I will be Yours forevermore.
