“So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power,
together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that
surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.” Ephesians 3:17-19 (NIV)
Even after I became a follower of Christ, there were years that I wandered aimlessly. I was useless to God. I often would tell people, “I love to talk about God, but my life is not right with God.” I often told my wife and my kids that I knew that I would not be able to run from
God forever.
It was during the time when my wife was dying that I prayed with her that God would restore me, and that He would help me to live a life for Him. I had often failed with my children. I tried to be patient and loving, but I had so many years of struggling that it affected my parenting skills. We prayed that God would restore me, and that this would help draw our kids back to Him.
Well, I was restored, and I found a church where I felt loved and encouraged. After my wife died, I remember one day being in my room
praying, when I had a vision. In the vision I saw that my wife was in the room, and Jesus was in the room also. The room filled with love as it glowed a yellow-gold color. So many instances of our life together were shown to me. Then Jesus leaned forward and put His hand above mine, and the room glowed even brighter, overflowing with love.
The love my wife had for me was beautiful, but the love Jesus had for my wife was much greater. I was in awe of His magnificence!
